This guide introduces four essential techniques that help avoid overly smooth, plastic-looking results while enhancing object details for a more lifelike effect. Here’s what you’ll learn:

Mastering Flux AI’s guidance values is critical for realistic image results. This setting determines the balance between crisp detail and a natural appearance. Here’s how to get started:
Begin by setting the Flux guidance to a default value of 3.5, which provides a subtle balance between detail sharpness and realism. However, keep in mind that higher guidance values can create an unnatural “plastic” look on skin.
To explore the effects of different guidance values, try setting it to 10 for sharper, cleaner details, though the skin may still look artificial. For a cinematic look, lower the guidance closer to 0. This adjustment brings out lifelike textures and softens any plastic effect in skin tones, giving your images a more natural, film-like quality.

Creating a gritty, rough aesthetic is often desired in cinematic imagery. Adjusting both the sampler and scheduler in Flux AI can help achieve a richer, more intense atmosphere.
Start with a descriptive prompt, such as “a woman in a gritty street scene.” Set the Flux guidance to 3.5 to ensure balanced realism.
Switching the sampler to DPM2 and the scheduler to Karas enhances the intensity and texture of the image, adding a slightly rougher look ideal for cinematic effects. For added refinement, lower both Max Shift and Base Shift to around 0.2. This adjustment reduces shininess and improves the texture of skin, resulting in a more natural look.
Alternatively, setting Max Shift to 2.0 and Base Shift to 0.8 adds a slightly stylized effect, which can be useful for vintage or cinematic styles by balancing brightness and texture. This method is ideal if you’re aiming for a more polished, dramatic look.

Some keywords, like “woman,” may dominate the image. To adjust, select the keyword, hold down the control key, and press the down arrow until the weight reaches 0.1. This lets other elements, like background textures, appear more naturally without the subject overpowering the scene.
